Wins at Penn Relays

Olympic gold medalists and Icon clients LaShawn Merritt and Angelo Taylor started off the 2009 track season right where the left off in Beijing, coming up big when it mattered and showing the rest of the world how much faster it needs to run.

Participating in the USA v. the World series of races at the Penn Relays, Merritt and Taylor led the United to a first place finish in the 4x400m relay, winning in a time of 2:59.78.

They weren't the only Icon athletes who came up big at Penn. Walter Dix and Shawn Crawford ran the U.S. to another victory, this time in the 4x100m. It was payback for the United States, which dropped out of medal contention in Beijing due to a bumbled baton pass.

That wasn't the case this time around. Instead, the U.S.A. won running away, capturing the meet title in a time of 32.79.

Terrence Trammell, running with the U.S.'s Blue Team in the 4x100, was part of the team that took second in a 1-2 American relay finish.
