Once again, it was LaShawn Merritt leading the way for Icon's roster of athletes, this time racing to a win in the 400m despite rainy conditions at Toronto's Festival of Excellence.

LaShawn won in a time of 44.83 second -- hardly a slow finish regardless of the weather -- and afterward, spoke about his race, and his progress in what has been an undefeated season. As he told the IAAF:

"I pretty much cleared the field," LaShawn said. "I was coming down the home stretch and saw that I was in the lead. In a week and a half, I have my nationals. I wanted to come in and get a good race, I got a good race."

"My thing is my time doesn’t really matter. If I run a race, I know what I did wrong. But if I am feeling good that’s what really matters, Right now I am feeling great."

Shawn Crawford finished second in the 100m, clocking a 10.25 to finish behind winner Usain Bolt, while Bernard Williams finished fourth (10.47)...Keith Moffat took sixth in the high jump (2.20m)...Damu Cherry crossed the line third in the 100m hurdles in 13.01...Moushami Robinson finished sixth in the 400m dash (53.28)...
