A number of Icon athletes made news at the Adidas Track Classic in Carson, California, this past Saturday.

LaShawn Merritt, running the 200m for the first time in competition this season, posted the fastest time in the world in the event this year, winning 20.07 seconds.

Terrence Trammell, already off to a flying start in 2009, also won his race, cruising to victory in the 110 meter hurdles in 13.39 seconds.

While Angelo Taylor, Olympic 400m hurdles champion, finished second in his race in 48.70, his race was marred by an error setting up the hurdles, which ultimately led to the striking of the race winner's time from official results of this season.
