The 2009 Track and Field World Championships are just around the corner, and Icon is going to be represented in a very significant way.

Nine agency athletes will participating in the meet, held this year in Berlin, Germany. They include:

Shawn Crawford
Terrence Trammell
LaShawn Merritt
Angelo Taylor
Keith Moffatt
Carol Rodriguez
Damu Cherry
Oludamola Osayomi
Ajoke Odumosu

WORLD LEADER
Merritt heads to Berlin with the globe's best time this season in the 400m, 44.50. He will be looking to claim his first world title and unseat the reigning champion, Jeremy Wariner. LaShawn defeated Wariner in the 2008 Olympics.

BEST YET
Odumosu, who heads to Germany as a member of the Nigerian national team, is coming off her personal best in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 54.80 at the Nigerian championships was also a new national record. 

Ajoke is very optimistic about her chances in Berlin. As reported by Next.com:

Odumosu, whose winning time of 54.80 seconds in the 400m hurdles event in Abuja erased the previous record of 55.02 seconds she set in May at an athletics meet in Ponce, Puerto Rico, believes she is in her best form ever.

"The time was amazing for me. I think I'm in the best form of my life so far," she said, adding that she sees herself in the finals of the 400m hurdles event and may go on to win a medal from there.
